Gravity Run progress report
We have been working on our new game Gravity Run for a little while now, and it’s time to share some of the good stuff with you!
Gravity Run is inspired by 80′s games like Thrust and Gravity Force. On top of this, we are adding our own unique elements which will make it a fast-paced multi-directional blaster with puzzle elements to tickle the cortex. Gravity Run is a 3D-game, but we have locked one dimension to keep the game-play kind of 2D. This allows us to keep the retro game-play feeling, but have beautiful modern graphics.
We have been working on getting the ship controls working, and tweaking the camera follow-movement to make it feel just right. These two elements are coming together nicely, and it’s a pretty amazing experience flying and blasting around on our test-level.
On the topic of blasting: Guns are in, and destructible objects are in. We are working on getting various assets such as turrets and moving objects into the game too. Also, the main character is fully rigged and skinned, and ready for full body and facial animation.
As it stands now, we have a test level we can roam around in and blow stuff up. We are also working on the first level based on what works well on our test-level. A moving robot arm is in, and it does its best to crush us when we try to maneuver around it. This might not sound like much, but we are already having a great time testing the physics and firepower of our little spaceship.
Also, we have something pretty damn awesome to announce in the near future, which will help create the perfect mood for explosive action fun *plays air guitar*!
Stay tuned for more…
